GIVEAWAYS:Photographer style

I stumbled across Soulographer today while doing what I enjoy most, browsing professional photography sites. It is the best inspiration and makes me want to grab my camera and a few models and start shooting. However, in this Texas heat I tend to just continue browsing and leave my camera in the bag. It just so happens that the Soulographer [Skye, of Work of Heart photography] is hosting a HUGE giveaway this week! If you know me you know I recently entered any and every photography giveaway I could get my hands on...I did so after winning the very FIRST one I ever entered only to 'lose' because I didn't find out in time to respond to the vendors before the prizes were given to someone else. I guess she needed the items more than me, but with so many great products being given away I had to keep entering. After entering countless giveaways and not winning a thing I gave up...but THIS giveaway is worth taking the time to enter. So here I am telling you to go check it out a long with the many fabulous vendors who are a part of the giveaway. If you are a photographer, pro or amateur like myself, you'll want to make a few entries yourself!

Soup and Spring:Watching the Sander girls

Tonight I got to hang out with two really amazing women and two really cool little ladies. Together we played duck. duck. goose! mermaids, and pirates of course. It was a nice spring evening so we enjoyed it outside on the trampoline, and for dinner we served up some warm chicken noodle soup...
Enjoy

(do you see those beautiful mountains! I can't wait to share more pictures of them)

Burrell Family:Hello Spring

I met this sweet family back in December when a mutual friend suggested me as a photographer for their Christmas pictures. I have enjoyed getting to know Lindy better through the past few months and enjoy seeing her and her sweet boys every Sunday at Church. I was thrilled to be able to do pictures for them again and this past Saturday turned out the be a perfect Spring afternoon for pictures. Here are a few of my favorites from our session at Parrot Park.

Bre Bowers:Baby Bump

Recently I was able to do a MATERNITY photo session and I was so excited about it for a few reasons: 1. the momma-to-be is a wonderful friend of mine, and I'm really excited for her and her husband to have this precious boy. 2. her older sister is one of my BEST friends and was going to be there as well as her younger sister, who I also love and she just happens to have a pretty good eye for photography. 3. This was going to be my very first 'baby bump' session, and although Bre is only in her 2nd trimester and just noticeably preggers (not ideal for maternity photos) I could NOT pass up the chance to do this session during my visit to Pensacola. So although it was a bit cloudy, humid and SUPER windy I had a fantastic time taking these pictures and wish so badly I could find myself back in Pensacola in mid-June when Breanna and Stephen Bowers expect their precious baby to be born. Even if I won't be around to take his newborn pictures I cannot WAIT to see photos and eventually meet Henrik William Bowers. I know he's going to be ADORABLE...and REALLY spoiled, in the very best way!

Spring Photo Sessions

Tomorrow is March 1 and I can't believe it! In one months time my husband and I will be off to Montana for 11 weeks training...I can't wait. I have already left my job and am in the process of sorting through our belongings, items to sell, store and take with us. While there is a lot we have planned for the month of March I would LOVE to have my days broken up a bit with a few photo sessions.

If you are interested in booking a session let me know! Call me, e-mail me, leave me a comment on Facebook, contact me however you can and we'll work out a time and place! Haven't taken your Senior portraits yet? Call me quick! Want some early spring pictures of your children or grandchildren? I can get it done. Want an updated portrait of your family? or maybe you have a birthday or other event coming up in your family, book me to capture those memories for you.
As always, I do not charge a set fee I only ask that you make a charitable donation toward our work in Central Asia, the amount is up to you.
We will be moving in August and working there full-time (non-profit) for at least two years. I will be back in mid June and through the month of July too, so keep me in mind.
The month of March is going to fill up and fly by quicker than the last two months and I'm looking forward to spending some of that time behind my camera!

Snow Daze:Mini Me

Today we had snow...in EAST TEXAS! It happened once last year, and just a few weeks ago; but snow is NOT a common occurence here. The way everyone acts you'd think we had 5 feet instead of inches. I totally took advantage of it. I ended up taking a vacation day (because I knew the roads would be very icy on my 11pm drive home) and went over to my parents house to do a mini snow-shoot with my beautiful baby sister.
Here are just a few of my favorites from this snowy afternoon. Isn't she a doll?

Moore Family:Model Approved

Just before Christmas I did a shoot with the Moore family at Parrot Park. It was so much fun! Great lighting, great subjects and GREAT location. I've taken pictures of Sarah before and she always looks great in photos. Her mom and brothers proved to be just as photogenic. I was so excited to be able to do this shoot with the Moore family, hope you enjoy it too...now that I finally have it up on the blog.
